1. Agreement and the app

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and 854 Labs LLC. By downloading, installing, or using Voice Typing Pro, or by using vtpro.dev, you agree to them. You must be able to form a binding agreement where you live. If you use Voice Typing Pro for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to agree on its behalf.

Voice Typing Pro is a macOS dictation app for Apple Silicon Macs. Speech recognition runs locally. You are responsible for your content, backups, and the permissions and rights needed to dictate or process speech, including anyone else’s speech. Review recognized text before using or sending it.

2. License and acceptable use

Subject to these terms and any applicable store terms, 854 Labs grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Voice Typing Pro on Macs you own or control. Do not copy, distribute, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract source code from the app except where applicable law expressly permits it. Do not use the app or website unlawfully, infringe another person's rights, interfere with the app or website, or bypass security or access controls.

3. Stores, availability, and ownership

For downloads or purchases through an app store, that store's terms and policies may also apply to your download or purchase. The store handles its own accounts, payment methods, and transaction records. This website does not sell the app or create a customer account. Voice Typing Pro does not provide cloud transcript storage or backup. Applicable open-source and model licenses remain in effect and are not restricted by these terms.

We may change, pause, or discontinue features or availability where legally permitted, and do not promise a particular update schedule, uptime, compatibility result, storage period, or future feature. Voice Typing Pro, its software, design, documentation, branding, and other materials are owned by 854 Labs or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms grant only the limited license above; they do not transfer ownership to you.

4. Disclaimers, liability, and changes

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Voice Typing Pro and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Speech recognition can omit, alter, or invent words. Review transcripts and their destination before relying on them or sending them to others, and keep your own backups. We do not guarantee that any feature will preserve every file state or meet every need.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 854 Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to 854 Labs for Voice Typing Pro in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100 if you paid nothing. Except where the law where you live requires otherwise, Indiana law governs these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable statutory guarantees.

We may update these terms by posting a new version here. Continuing to use Voice Typing Pro after an update takes effect means you accept the update where permitted by law.
